Become a Member of PPMS
Join the Pikes Peak Mycological Society and enjoy special access to members-only forays, exclusive events, and a community of fellow fungi enthusiasts who share your curiosity about the fascinating world of mushrooms.
Individual memberships are available for $30 per year, and family memberships are $40 per year for two adults, with kids included at no additional cost. Our season typically runs from mid-April through mid-September, depending on mushroom activity. Membership applications for the following season open each year on September 15.
One of the biggest benefits of becoming a member is access to our exclusive members-only forays during mushroom season. These outings offer hands-on experience in the field, where you can learn directly from knowledgeable experts in mycology. Members have the opportunity to gain insight and guidance from respected names such as Brian Barzee, Britt Bunyard, Michael Beug, Tradd Cotter, and many others.
Forays are also a great way to connect with other amateur mycologists, ask questions, and build your mushroom identification skills in a real-world setting. Along the way, you’ll learn more about when, where, and how to find mushrooms in Southern Colorado, along with helpful tips for safe and successful foraging. And yes — we may even lead you to a few of our favorite top-secret mushroom hunting spots.
Membership also includes access to some of our most anticipated annual events. Our cook-and-taste gatherings bring members together to sample local mushrooms prepared in a variety of creative and delicious ways, from drinks and appetizers to main dishes and desserts. It’s a fun and memorable way to explore the culinary side of fungi.
Another favorite is our annual camping trip, one of the most popular events of the season. It’s a chance to enjoy more time in the field, connect with fellow members, and make lasting memories surrounded by people who are just as excited about mushrooms as you are.
We love welcoming new members, and we know the excitement of wanting to get out there and learn more. If you’re ready to explore, discover, and connect with a passionate mushroom-loving community, PPMS is the place for you.
Please allow up to 3 business days for your payment to be processed before your welcome letter is emailed to you.

The Pikes Peak Mycological Society is a volunteer-run club and is 100% funded by our members and through donations. Your membership dollars help with the clubs expenses, including rental fees for meeting space, compensating speakers and education in the community. Every dollar that we collect stays right here in Southern Colorado and helps our club to grow and accomplish our mission of promoting a better understanding and knowledge about fungi in our local community. It is because of our loyal members and volunteers that PPMS is even possible.
